the title of the Young Pianist of the North 2010
RAUL DA COSTA (17), PORTUGAL
First prizes in many piano competitions in Portugal, in the international piano competitions in San Sebastian (2008) and the Scriabin competition in Paris (2009). Finalist of the 1st European Union Piano competition (2009). 2nd prize in the Chopin international competition in Lisbon. Has performed in the most important concert halls in Portugal and has made recordings for the Portuguese radio and television. Since 2005 pupil of Prof. Álvaro T. Lopes at Academia De Musica S.Pio X.
2nd Prize GIORGIO TRIONE BARTOLI (14), ITALY
Has won numerous prizes in many national and international competitions, including 2nd prizes in 2010 in the X Lams Matera “Ponselle” competition and the 20th International Piano competition “Roma 2010”. Regular concert performances, including a recent appearance with the Bari Conservatory orchestra, playing the 3rd Piano Concerto by Beethoven. Since 2006 a pupil of Prof. Pasquale Iannone at the Conservatorio di Musica in Bari.
3rd Prize ELISABETH BRAUSS (15), GERMANY
Has won first prizes in numerous national competitions and in the international Grotrian Steinweg competitions for a succession of years. Awarded prizes from several music foundations. Has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and as a soloist with orchestra in Norway, Ukraine, USA, China, Taiwan. In 2007 she played for the German President in Berlin. Since the age of six has studied the piano at the Institute for the Musically Gifted in Hanover. A former pupil of Dr. Elena Levit and Prof. Matti Raekallio. Since 2010 a pupil of Prof. Bernd Goetzke.

Since 2004 has won numerous first prizes in national competitions and several prizes in international competitions, such as “Lira De Aur” in 2007, Tudor Dimitresku in Bucharest in 2010 and Millenium Contest in Bucharest in 2010.

1st prize in the state competition for young composers (2009). A pupil of Dina Atte at the Em. Darzinsh specialist music school.
2nd Prize CHARLOTTE BENIEST (10), BELGIUM
A finalist at the Cantabile competition (2008), 2nd place in the Steinway competition (2009), a finalist in the international EPTA competition (2010), the winner of the Guy Brodelet competition (Belgium, 2010). Studies the piano with her mother, Gill Masson.
