2ND PRIZE:
TAE-MIN HYUN (19), SOUTH KOREA

Began playing the piano at the age of four. Between 2007 and 2014 studied with Karl Heinz Kaemmerling. The winner of several national and international competitions (Jugend-Musiziert, Steinway and Sons, the Grotrian-Steinweg, Ile de France ). Since autumn 2014 studies piano with Bernd Goetzke, Hanover.

3RD PRIZE:
JOACHIM LIM (13), SINGAPORE

Joachim is a pupil at the Purcell School in London. His first performance took place in Singapore when he was four. He has performed in London, Italy, France, Japan, USA. The Chopin prize winner in Italy in 2014, the 3rd prize winner in 2015 in France; the Gold medal in the “Passion of Music” festival in USA led to a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York. Studies with Pascal Nemirovski, London.

MOZART AWARD:
ALEXA STIER (19), UK

First prizes each year in 2005-2013 in national competitions for young pianists in Romania, her native country. Prizes in international competitions Carl Filcsth (Romania), Jeunesses Musicales (Romania), Chopin (Rzeszow, Poland), Merci Maestro (Belgium, 2016). Performances with orchestras (concerti by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Saint Saëns, Ravel), solo recital at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016. Studies with Fali Pavri, Glasgow.

KAWAI ENCOURAGEMENT PRIZE:
MICHAEL LAN (20), UK

An active performer, experience of playing with orchestras (Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns, Britten, Peter White). Regular chamber music performances. Multiple awards in national and regional festivals. Studies with Philip Jenkins, London.

    

CATEGORY B (16 AND UNDER)

1ST PRIZE, MOZART AWARD:
CLARA SIEGLE (16), GERMANY

Awards in many national and international competitions include the first prizes in five Jugend-Musiziert competitions and prizes in competitions in Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands; Gold Medal from the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Recitals in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands. Studies with Thomas Boeckheler in Munich.

2ND PRIZE:
PAVOL PRAZENICA (15), CZECH REPUBLIC

A winner of national and international competitions, including contests in Italy (Frascati), Austria (Bela Bartok), Slovakia (Dolny Kubin and Kosice), Poland (Glubczyce) and over ten competitions in Czech Republic. Performances with symphony and chamber orchestras as well as solo recitals. Studies with Libuse Ticha, Prague.

3RD PRIZE:
MATIJA DROFENIK (15), CROATIA

The 1st prize winner in international competitions in Grado (Italy), Zagreb and Varazdin (Croatia) in 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2015; and in national competitions in 2010 and 2016. Awards in the International competition in Paris (2011), and several national competitions. Performances of concerti by Bach and Haydn with orchestra. Studies with Jelica Kuzmin, Zagreb.

CATEGORY A (11 AND UNDER)

1ST PRIZE:
KENENISA KILCHMANN (11), GERMANY

Has succefully performed in the regional Jugend-Musiziert competition and received three awards in the international Munich Klavierpodium in 2015. Studies with Reinhard Becker in Trossingen.

2ND PRIZE:
LISA MARIE GROSSENRICHTER (11), GERMANY

An experienced performer and contestant. Prize winner of international competitions in France (Nicolai Rubinstein, 2014 and 2016), Belgium (Merci Maestro, 2016), Italy (Frascati, 2016), England (Windsor, 2016)
