ACCOMMODATION
Gosforth and the adjacent Jesmond are close suburbs of Newcastle
upon Tyne. Both feature many guest houses and hotels with a wide
range of size, comfort and prices. The laterooms website is convenient
for viewing the available options, though contacting the hotels
directly afterwards may lower the expense. For searches, enter
destinations Gosforth; Jesmond; Newcastle. Hotels in Gateshead,
and any place nearby a metro station also are good options.
You also may consider staying on the sea coast in Whitley Bay,
as some of our contestants have done previously. Whitley Bay has
a good metro link with Gosforth. Some areas of Whitley Bay are
popular weekend destinations: if you are after peace and quiet,
check with the hotel first.
Marriott Hotel in Gosforth has a convenient public transport
link by bus (6-9 minutes, on average every 10 minutes) to the
Gosforth High Street, where the competition is taking place.
Good deals (around £35.00 per double room per night) are often
available at some Premier Inn and Travelodge hotels nearby, though
you might need to walk 10-15 minutes to the nearest metro station
or use your own car or a taxi.
